I have previously asked students to explain their approach to me where I gauge their strengths and weaknesses. After which, I tap on their strengths and give them tips on how to alleviate their weaknesses. I usually go through 1-2 practices with them before giving them work to complete on their own. I constantly give feedback and systematic approaches to help mold the tutees’ thinking approach.
