About Conner
In addition to teaching government and economics, I bring a passion for connecting real-world events to the classroom. I aim to create an environment where students not only learn but also engage with the material in meaningful ways. When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy reading, spending time outdoors, and working on creative projects that inspire both myself and my students. I believe learning should be dynamic and enjoyable, and I strive to bring that energy to every lesson I teach.

My teaching methods and techniques focus on making government and economics relatable and interactive for high school seniors, both in standard and honors classes. I emphasize critical thinking, class debates, and real-world applications, using a blend of direct instruction, student-led activities, and multimedia presentations to keep students engaged.
A typical lesson plan includes a clear objective, a short interactive lecture, a class activity such as debates, case studies, or role-playing, followed by reflective questions and a wrap-up discussion to ensure comprehension. Honors students experience more in-depth analysis and are often tasked with advanced projects and essays that challenge their critical thinking.
What sets me apart is my ability to break down complex government concepts and historical influences, connecting them to students' lives through interactive activities that foster engagement and understanding. Additionally, I create a supportive classroom environment that encourages open discussions on sensitive topics, allowing students to explore various viewpoints and develop their own opinions.
These lessons are designed for high school students, preparing them for college-level thinking. While both standard and honors classes cover core government and economic principles, the honors class involves deeper exploration and critical analysis of these topics. My approach is tailored to challenge students at their individual levels, ensuring each one leaves the class with a solid foundation in government and economics.
