About Jackson

Jackson studied Jazz at Guildhall School of Music and Drama back in 2009. However, never feeling fully embedded in the Jazz world, he quickly went onto the session musician circuit, playing for high profile artists such as Stormzy and Jordan Rakei.

Following a string of very successful singles in 2020, Jackson released his debut album ‘Travels in a Confined Space’ in April of 2021, where he received support from BBC 6music (Huey Morgan), BBC introducing (Jess Iszatt and Robert Elms), Worldwide FM (Gilles Peterson) and was playlisted on Jazz FM.
He then went on collaborate with various musicians and producers, creating a vast catalogue of music for someone his age.

About the lesson

I like to give a balanced look at technical aspects of the trumpet, such as articulation, long notes, scales and breath control. Along with a look at improvisation, sight reading, harmony and composition.

In an ideal world I would take students on that were quite experienced anywhere from 14-20 years old and above. I have taught on Julian joseph's jazz academy and worked as a tutor for HMDT music.
