About Chris A
Hello, my name is Chris! I am a 30 year old teachers assistant from Virginia Beach. I graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in 2019. I double majored in History and Religion/Philosophy. I teach writing/literature, History, Philosophy, and Biblical Studies. I am passionate about what I teach and I try my best to keep up with the best scholarship in the field. One of my commitments once I joined the Honor Society for History is a commitment to the highest form of scholarship and integrity. I try to translate this into my teaching of others.

As a tutor, I try to use the best sources I can to make sure you really know the material! I teach many of the basic subjects including ones that are not in a typical setting. For example, I taught a course at my own Church on the History and theological development of early Christian creeds and used a text as well as handouts.
My own method and lessons may adapt to your particular needs and I will try my best to do that which suits your needs. For example, if we are studying the Civil War in America or studying some well-known philosophers we may go over the key facts that one may find in a course. If you are struggling to understand a particular thinker or why an event happened, we might need to go deeper. For example, we might look deeper at any books they produced and the context around them to get a better grasp as to what they said and why it is important. I try to pick up on what you might need the most! Other than that, my typical lesson plan would include outlines and some notes (depending on what we are looking at).
My lessons are geared towards those on the College and High School Level. But I am open to teaching everyone. One thing that sets me apart is that I am very passionate about what I teach and I love connecting it to today and why it is so relevant. I also want to put my students first and will do anything to help them!
