About Emily
I have spent a lot of my life in museums - and work in one now! Before I worked in a museum, I was a teacher. I love to find fun and encourage curiosity in myself and others. I find inspiration, magic, and beauty just walking around Philadelphia, and enjoy sharing my love of art more than anything else. Some of my favorite artists are Jean-Michel Basquiat, Cy Twombly, and John Singer Sargent.

There are many ways to connect to Art History, but my favorite is to help others develop a curiosity for why art matters, even in our daily lives. I can work with a syllabus you have for a class, or just teach you what you are interested in! I have taught students K-12, and taught Art History to high schoolers in Rome (in English!).
I bring enthusiasm, patience, and a genuine love of art to my lessons. I give public talks at a museum in Philadelphia as my other job, and one of my greatest strengths is to help anyone - no matter their age or interest - connect to art every day.
