About Runhan

Hello! My name is Hana/Runhan, born in Jinan I moved to the UK 4 years ago to complete an Urban Studies and Planning masters at the University of Sheffield which I have recently graduated. I'm a passionate and experienced Chinese teacher dedicated to helping students achieve their language-learning goals. As your teacher, I strive to create a supportive, engaging, and effective learning environment. My lessons are carefully designed to meet your unique needs, whether you’re a complete beginner or an advanced learner looking to refine your skills. I combine structured teaching methods with interactive activities and real-life scenarios to ensure you not only learn the language but also gain a deep understanding of Chinese culture and traditions. My approach emphasises patience, clarity, and encouragement. I believe that with the right guidance and consistent practice, anyone can master Chinese and enjoy the journey along the way. Whether you want to travel, advance your career, or connect with Chinese-speaking communities, I am here to help you every step of the way. Let’s start this exciting language-learning adventure together! I look forward to helping you unlock the beauty of the Chinese language and culture.

About the lesson

My lessons are highly interactive and personalised to suit your learning goals, whether you’re focusing on conversational Chinese, grammar, business Chinese, or preparing for exams like HSK. Typically, we’ll start with a quick review of previous material, then dive into a mix of speaking, listening, reading, and writing exercises. I use multimedia resources, such as videos, songs, and cultural stories, to make the learning experience engaging and immersive. Learning a language is not just about vocabulary and grammar, it’s about connecting with the culture. I incorporate Chinese traditions, idioms, and real-life scenarios into our lessons. For beginners, we’ll focus on building a strong foundation with pronunciation and essential phrases. For advanced learners, we’ll explore complex sentence structures, idiomatic expressions, and even Chinese literature. I encourage open discussions and questions, making our lessons a two-way street.
