About Marlin

I started teaching as an instructor at guitar center, where I had about 25-30 students I taught per week. During this time I learned how to tailor any lesson plan to the specific needs of students. Whether it’s a 5 year old who’s just first developing a sense of rhythm, or an adult trying to get past a hurdle that’s been holding them down for years, I will make the lessons but fun and challenging so that the students are aptly motivated to play, practice, and prepare for the next lessons. I have also worked with plenty of children and adults with special needs. Now I work at a music school called Roos Studios in Orange County.

About the lesson

My goal as a teacher is to adapt to the needs of the students, no matter what hurdles they face. Whether it’s learning techniques or just a song you’ve always wanted to play, I will try my best to get you to where you want to be at. Over the course of the 7 years I’ve been teaching, I’ve learned that the best virtue is patience. The job of the teacher is not to force their knowledge onto the student, but rather to teach the student how to be patient with themself so they can progress and get past the typical frustrations of learning an instrument. I have taught children with special needs, adults with brain damage, and older people with Parkinson’s. These experiences have shown me that channeling your passions through music can truly lift your spirit, and that’s what I aim to do as a teacher.

Depending on the distance I need to drive, it may cost more or less. Base rate is $60/hr if you are in the North Hollywood, Burbank area. Also teaching in oc. 6+ years of teaching experience.
