About Megan
At Giggle and Grow Learning, every lesson is designed to be engaging, structured, and tailored to each child’s unique needs. I understand that no two learners are the same, so I take a personalised approach that balances academic focus with a warm, supportive atmosphere—so children not only improve, but also enjoy the process of learning. Lesson Format Each session typically follows a clear structure to provide consistency and purpose: Welcome & Warm-Up (5 minutes) – A short brain teaser, word game, or maths warm-up to ease into the session and activate prior knowledge. Focused Learning (20–30 minutes) – Based on the child’s specific goals, whether it's phonics, reading comprehension, spelling, numeracy, or problem-solving. This includes direct instruction, practice activities, and use of visual aids or interactive tools. Skill Application (10–15 minutes) – Activities where students apply what they’ve learned through games, mini-assessments, or real-world tasks to strengthen understanding. Review & Positive Reflection (5 minutes) – A brief recap, encouragement, and goal-setting for next time to build self-awareness and confidence. Lessons are available online or in-person, depending on location and family preference. Content & Curriculum Lessons are fully aligned with the UK National Curriculum for Key Stages 1 and 2. I support core areas including: Phonics & Early Reading Spelling, Grammar, and Writing Maths Mastery (Place Value, Arithmetic, Problem-Solving) Reading Comprehension SATs preparation and homework support Materials are adapted to match the child’s level, and I frequently incorporate visuals, manipulatives, storytelling, educational games, and digital tools to maintain interest and cater to various learning styles. Experience & Teaching Style With a degree in Primary Initial Education and experience working in three diverse schools, I have taught pupils with a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and learning needs. I am DBS-checked and trained in classroom and one-to-one support, including children with SEND and EAL. My teaching style is encouraging, patient, and proactive. I build strong relationships with my students, making them feel safe to ask questions, take risks, and celebrate their progress. Whether a child needs to catch up, keep up, or get ahead, I help them do so with structure, encouragement, and a good dose of giggles!

I am a qualified educator with a degree in Primary Initial Education, dedicated to supporting the academic growth and personal development of primary school children. My training and hands-on experience have equipped me with a deep understanding of the national curriculum, age-appropriate teaching strategies, and the developmental needs of young learners. I hold an up-to-date DBS check, ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all children under my care. Throughout my teaching journey, I have worked in three diverse primary schools, each with its own unique community, challenges, and strengths. This has allowed me to develop a flexible, inclusive, and empathetic teaching approach, enabling me to connect with children from a wide range of cultural, linguistic, and socio-economic backgrounds. A key strength of mine is the ability to provide individualised support tailored to each child's learning style, pace, and specific needs. Whether a student requires help with foundational literacy and numeracy skills, targeted intervention, or confidence-building, I adapt my methods to ensure every child makes meaningful progress. At Giggle and Grow Learning, I combine academic focus with a warm, engaging style to help children not only succeed in school but also enjoy the process of learning.
