About John
I don't take myself too seriously and tend to have a good rapport with my peers. I love history and math and have helped my fellow students, both in high school and college who were struggling in those subjects. I look forward to meeting prospective students who may need some encouragement and help in their classes.

As a recent college graduate, I do not have teaching experience yet, but here goes:
After making sure that the student is in a good mindset, start a conversation about what the student is hoping to learn or they may be struggling with. Then, I would start a conversation on some interesting facts that I know about the topic, for example, The American Civil War. I would provide visuals, maps, anecdotal stories, anything that will help to engage the student.
From there, I would ask them for any background information that they could provide me on the topic. Then I would start to get into the details as to what they need help with or are struggling with.
