About Mercy
I am a committed and professional tutor who values clarity, patience, and consistency in teaching. I believe a good lesson is one where students feel supported, confident, and able to make measurable progress. I plan each session carefully to ensure time is used effectively, with clear explanations, guided practice, and constructive feedback that helps students understand and improve.
I adapt my teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities, including supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This ensures every learner is taught at an appropriate pace and feels encouraged throughout the lesson.
My experience teaching Maths and Science at high school level, alongside my current role within a college, has strengthened my ability to deliver structured, high-quality lessons. My approach to tutoring is student-centred, structured, and supportive. I assess each learner’s current level of understanding and tailor lessons to meet individual needs, ensuring concepts are taught clearly and at an appropriate pace. In Maths and Science, I use step-by-step explanations and practical examples to support understanding and build confidence.
I have experience teaching Maths and Science at high school level and am currently working at college level (focused mainly on Maths). I also have experience supporting learners with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), adapting my teaching strategies to suit different learning styles and abilities. I emphasise patience, clarity, and positive reinforcement to create a calm, inclusive learning environment.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes. I teach Maths at school and college level and Science at school level. I hold a Master’s degree in Education Technology, a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, and a Bachelor’s degree in Science.
