About Rasia
My name Rasia and I am a recently graduate high school student. When I was in high school I got a part time job at Kumon which is a tutor centre. After work there for a 2 years one of the parents from Kumon want extra help for their recent immigrated which was to help them speak English. Through this parent I began private tutoring where I would read books, ask questions, listen to them talking and correct them on their mistakes and more. After 6 months she became very confident in English and the parent referred me to her friend who I am still tutoring now.

Since I have worked with younger kids I start off by reading English books to them and ask questions about the storyline and the illustrations to get them more comfortable in talking in English. I listen and correct their pronunciation on English words. I try to make them feel more comfortable in talking in English as much as possible by being very patient when they are struggling to get words out and being very encouraging. After they are more comfortable with sounds alphabet I teach them how to blend sounds and from then on I help them transition into reading.
