About Rachel
Within my teaching career, I have worked with children from a range of backgrounds and cultures and learnt from them whilst they have learnt from me. I have assisted children to achieve their goals in their SATs exams and helped younger children improve their reading to pass their phonics assessments. Whilst teaching, I have been described as an adaptable, understanding and approachable teacher. I strive to make learning fun and accessible for all.

During the first lesson, I like to get to know you and find out what your goals and interests are. I also like to introduce myself and have a general chat so that you feel as comfortable as possible. I will adapt and change my teaching style for each individual person as I am aware that we all learn very differently. I will choose my resources based around each person's personal interests and I know this increases motivation towards tasks. As a teacher, I naturally like to structure my lessons. So each lesson will start with a short catch up, then an activity together and then a plenary at the end. I like to include elements of discussion, working together and independent work.
