About Oma

Teaching exists for me because I value the sound of a wrong note played with conviction over a silent right one. I still remember the dusty static of my first amplifier buzzing in a quiet room as I fumbled through a power chord. My own path to the Bachelor of Music in Popular Music at Queensland Conservatorium was incredibly messy, yet that chaos makes me approachable for students who feel stuck in their own tangled progress.

Working with players who already possess a solid technical foundation allows us to refine the stubborn details that hold them back. I let silences run during our time together because thinking time is rarely wasted. It is genuinely enjoyable to watch a student finally untangle a complex solo when they stop overthinking the fretboard.

About the lesson

You will notice immediately that our time together feels more like a collaborative jam than a rigid lecture. We address your specific hurdles, whether you struggle with reading sheet music or want to sharpen your lead guitar phrasing.

Dealing with tabs is fine, but we also spend time training your ears so you can find the notes without a screen. Technique matters, but groove and feel are the real goals here.

I bring an 8.0 level of focus to our sessions to ensure your improvisation feels intentional rather than accidental. We break down the stubborn parts of your playing until they become second nature. You walk away with a clear plan for your practice routine. Things start to click when you stop fighting the strings.
