About Lucas

For me, teaching guitar is about helping students tell their stories through music. With Bachelor’s degrees in Music, I combine professional training with a passion for creative expression. My lessons begin with foundational techniques such as posture, finger placement, chord transitions, rhythm, and tone, before advancing to improvisation, composition, and expressive playing. I integrate music theory into lessons in practical, real-world ways, connecting concepts to songs students enjoy. Each session is tailored to the student’s pace, goals, and interests, creating a motivating, supportive environment.

I emphasise technical skill, creativity, and performance confidence equally. My curriculum includes ear training, sight-reading, and improvisation exercises to develop well-rounded musicianship. I encourage students to explore genres from classical and jazz to contemporary rock, blues, and pop. I provide detailed feedback, structured practice routines, and strategies to overcome challenges. My approach balances discipline with artistic freedom, ensuring lessons are both productive and inspiring. I celebrate milestones and foster perseverance, patience, and self-expression. Students learn to communicate emotion and personality through their playing. Over time, learners develop confidence, skill, and their own musical voice.
