About Zoey
Teaching guitar for a decade has given me the privilege of working with students from a wide range of musical backgrounds. My approach combines structure with curiosity, helping learners stay motivated while also developing discipline and awareness. I focus on building confidence, creativity, and self-understanding through consistent, thoughtful practice. I enjoy helping students find their personal sound — the tone, rhythm, and phrasing that reflect who they are musically. Lessons are never about perfection but about progress and self-expression. I believe every guitarist, regardless of level, can discover a powerful connection between their hands, ears, and emotions. Outside of lessons, I perform, compose, and collaborate with other musicians, experiences that continually shape my teaching perspective. I bring that same stage energy into the classroom, helping each student understand what it means to play with confidence and authenticity.

My guitar lessons are designed to help students experience the instrument as a form of creative self-expression while developing strong technical foundations. Each session integrates warm-up exercises, rhythm and tone work, and creative exploration, ensuring that learning feels dynamic and engaging rather than repetitive. Whether you’re picking up the guitar for the first time or polishing advanced techniques, the lessons are tailored to your musical goals and personal pace.
Beginners start by mastering the basics — from chord shapes and strumming to rhythm control and simple melodies — building both dexterity and listening awareness. Intermediate learners move into improvisation, fingerstyle, and stylistic development, while advanced students refine phrasing, dynamics, and expressive control. I often include ear training and short improvisation exercises to deepen musical intuition and interpretive skills.
Each class aims to make playing feel both natural and meaningful. Students leave with a sense of clarity, rhythm, and purpose — learning not just to play songs but to communicate emotion and creativity through their instrument.
