• When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

  I have always loved music; it has been a huge part of my life since I was a little kid. I love to sing and dance, and I've always had a fascination with live music, and so I was naturally curious to see if I could play music.

• What makes you passionate about your subject?

  The reason I love music and am so passionate is because music is one of the purest forms of self expression. It makes us cry, smile, gives us energy and can motivate us to better ourselves! Think of how many moments in your life have been enhanced by music, the emotional impact music has had on all of us, is beyond measure. Trying to contribute and be a part of that musical experience is what has made me fall in love with music.

• What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

  The biggest thing that excites me about tutoring is, I love meeting and helping new people. Everyone has a story, and I love being a part of it! It is so rewarding to watch someone go from struggling with music, to effortlessly writing and performing music they have written.

• Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

  It's a bit cheesy, but my Mom and Dad are both teachers, so as a kid I would sit in on the classes they taught, which I think had a bigger impact on me then I thought. When I was just starting out, they gave me lots of help and advice, I am eternally grateful for their help, support, and love.

• What are your keys to success?

  For me, the tools that have been most important have been persistence, deduction, and being too stubborn to quit. I never really had a "gift" for music, but I just kept coming back every time after I failed. I think it was hard work and discipline, as well as not being afraid to ask for help that has been the biggest key to my success.
