About Kurt
I have been active in education since 2007, running guitar groups for South Notts College and students of all ages from beginner and beyond. I have continually taught private students in guitar and producing/composition. I have tutored groups and one-to-one sessions in schools - primary and secondary in guitar and music tech. All my tuition sessions are positive and enthusiastic, and have a sense of fun and discovery. I have a warm and friendly manner that helps lessons be enjoyable for all parties.

I have run guitar groups for South Notts College and tutored students of all ages from beginner and beyond, have continually taught private students in guitar and producing/composition. I have tutored groups and one-to-one sessions in schools, primary and secondary, to levels from beginner to KS2/3/4 or Rockschool/Trinity grade standards. I can proudly say I do have past students who have gone on to college/university to study music/instruments. My lessons are fun but focused - listening skills - finger strength - learning what you like - steady paced and good patience. Lots of backing tracks, interactive software like Yousician.
Review
All of our reviews are collected by us and are 100% reliable. They correspond to a real experience had by the students of Kurt.
Perfect! Kurt is a very thoughtful and caring teacher. A large part of his teaching is getting his students to improve their listening skills, we find this approach useful as both my children (who are his students) want to play the guitar along to and with their favourite artists on the radio.
- I'm pleased with my new students - a pleasure to teach - they are willing , attentive and making good progress.Kurt's response :
Perfect! Kurt is very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. He will assess your level of ability and talk to you about what you want to do with your music skill (perform, play in a band, hobby at home, etc). He will then make a plan for the lessons. I recommend you book a set of lessons as to go regularly is good for your learning and your practice discipline. Kurt also does a bit of a discount for block booking sets of lessons.
- Had a great trial lesson! very happy to be teaching bass- James enjoyed it and we got on very well- and got a bit of jamming done too.. more lessons to come..:)Kurt's response :

Kurt has been my guitar tutor for over 5 years now and I know him very well.
I've always enjoyed my lessons with Kurt and find them to be great fun. His teaching style is relatively informal, but also instructive and creative. He provides lots of useful tips and can teach both classical and rock/pop styles.
Although I haven't had piano lessons with him, I know that this is something he is also very experienced at.
If you decide to have lessons with Kurt, you'll learn a lot and enjoy yourself in the process!View more recommendations
