About William
Hey, my name is Will and I have 20+ years of experience playing acoustic and electric guitars (as well as a little bass guitar) within lots of bands and countless gigs. After acquiring a Btec qualification in Guitar Technology at the London Centre of Contemporary Music in London in 2006, I launched into session work and paid gig work for various artists from which I retired when I moved back to the Yorkshire countryside in 2015. Since then, I have spent more time in the recording studio and expanded upon my repertoire of learned and original songs. I really want to help new guitarists find their feet and gain confidence in their instrument because it has been an utterly invaluable skill to me and one which has provided me with opportunities that most people never usually encounter. Learning any kind of instrument is, above all else, simply great fun and a skill that most adults regret not achieving within their lifetime, so get started today!

My aim is to help budding beginner or intermediate guitarists to get a good understanding of chords, in terms of their shapes, uses and application, as well as the basic theory behind their formulation.
During the 60-minute lesson time, the students and I will concentrate on playing along with well-known songs in order to gain knowledge about how chords work and how to apply them correctly. Basic theory about chord construction will be taught along with every new chord shape and variant so that the key understanding is developed and maintained throughout. Over time, this essential and foundational knowledge will give students all of the confidence they need as they expand their techniques and develop into the guitarists they aspire to be.
I have 20 years of experience playing guitar and earned a Btec certificate for guitar technology in 2006 at the age of 21. I have since been in numerous bands playing hundreds of gigs over time within the UK and the EU, as well as plenty of experience in recording studios.
My lessons are aimed for dedicated students of ages 10+ who want to start at beginner level or who have prior experience and want to improve or expand upon their skills.
