About Harrison
My journey with the guitar began when I was four years old, strumming along with a wooden spoon in the kitchen whenever the solo to Bon Jovi’s "Livin' on a Prayer" came on the radio. Recognising my interest, my mum enrolled me in classical guitar training.
I studied classical on and off for a few years, which gave me a disciplined foundation in technique and a deep respect for the instrument. However, as the years went on, I found the teaching methods and rigid repertoire incredibly dry, and my motivation to practice went completely out the window.
By the time I turned 12, I knew I needed a change if I was going to stick with the instrument. Wanting to discover my own musical voice, I bought an electric guitar and taught myself to play heavy rock and grunge tracks from bands like Nirvana, Metallica, AC/DC, and Van Halen. Re-engaging with music on my own terms completely reignited my passion.
Over time, that evolved into a serious appreciation for modern acoustic finger style, studying the intricate work of artists like Andy McKee and Justin King. Throughout my school years, I performed regularly in recitals and showcases, and in 2023, I completed my Grade 8 Acoustic Guitar certificate with RSL (RockSchool).
Alongside playing, I’ve always been drawn to the creative and technical side of music. I began writing, producing, mixing, and mastering my own songs at 15, and I currently have several tracks released independently on Spotify.
Today, I am 22 and living in London, training full-time as an actor at drama school. My training in theatre and screen is a massive asset when it comes to coaching; it has made me a patient, highly communicative, and grounded instructor.
Because I know firsthand what it feels like to lose motivation when lessons are too rigid, I make sure to break down complex physical movements—like intricate chord shapes—and teach them in a way that is structured, rewarding, and entirely stress-free.
Whether your goal is to understand rock riffs or simply learn how to accompany your favourite songs on the radio, I’m here to help you build real confidence and find your own sound.

As a guitarist with 20 years of playing experience and a Grade 8 RSL certificate, I offer structured, 1-hour in-person lessons tailored specifically for absolute beginners of all ages.
[ Location & Travel Options ]
I am based around the Finsbury Park region and offer two convenient setups for our lessons:
Studio Lessons: We will have access to a professional drama school rehearsal studio space, giving you a quiet, focused environment to learn with zero extra venue fees added to your lesson price.
Home Visits: Alternatively, I am happy to travel to your home for our lessons, provided your location is within a reasonable range of my North London base.
Online via Zoom: If you are outside of London or prefer the convenience of learning from home, I offer fully interactive online sessions.
Note: While Zoom is a great, flexible option for busy schedules, I highly recommend in-person lessons if you are an absolute beginner. Being in the same room makes it much easier to tweak your posture, fix hand placement, and get the absolute most out of your time.
[ What We Will Focus On ]
My teaching methodology is completely practical and song-led. Instead of getting bogged down in dense music theory right away, my goal is to get you playing the songs you love as quickly as possible.
Together, we will focus on essential techniques including:
Fretboard Familiarity: Understanding how the neck works, finding your way around the frets, and building finger strength.
Essential Chord Shapes: Learning the core open chords used in 90% of popular music so you can switch between them smoothly.
Rhythm, Strumming & Riffs: Developing a solid sense of timing, mastering catchy strumming patterns, and learning your first iconic guitar riffs while matching the groove of your favourite tracks.
Whether you want to learn how to strum around a campfire or understand the basics of rhythm guitar, we will move at your own pace in an encouraging, creative drama school rehearsal space.

My hourly rate is £27 per hour, and I like to keep things completely straightforward with zero hidden fees.

Free Rehearsal Studio Access: Our in-person lessons take place in a professional drama school rehearsal space in North London (Finsbury Park). There is no extra fee or booking charge for using this space.
A Fully Personalised Experience: We focus entirely on your goals during our hour. You just need to bring your guitar and your phone to voice memo our session's takeaways so you know exactly what to practice at home.
