I'm Jessie; I'm from a small town in Massachusetts, and I went to Tufts University, majoring in Biochemistry and Psychology with a 4.0 GPA. I currently study at Harvard Medical School, and I am interested in surgery, emergency medicine, and pediatrics. Outside of academics, I love running, hiking, and listening to Taylor Swift.

My teaching philosophy includes walking students through the material through the use of concept maps and providing visual engagement to the student. If I'm explaining a concept, I write the big ideas down along with the student (which prevents me from talking too fast), and draw the relationship between ideas out on my iPad or a whiteboard for the student to see. I've helped students with everything from perfecting their grade to an A+ to simply passing a difficult chemistry course, and I strive to meet the students where they're at, and partner with them to achieve their academic goals! I truly believe everyone can understand science and even come to love it once the concepts start to click! I constantly engage students when I tutor them, and encourage them to ask clarifying questions to ensure their understanding. I often work through practice problems with students as well as write my own questions for them to solve. I am very passionate about teaching, and I can't wait to work with you all!
