About Sofia

Hello & welcome to my profile! Thank you for taking an interest in me. I am from and currently reside in Texas. My ancestry is mixed with almost half Native American and Spanish, but my lineage also traces back to Egyptian, Jewish and West African. I can speak a little bit of Spanish and understand how difficult it can be to learn a new language. Hopefully, I can make you feel comfortable and have the lesson be fun and interesting. Personally, I enjoy being out in my garden when the weather is nice, playing video games, reading, coloring (it's relaxing), watching different types of shows/movies and learning what I find interesting. In the past I've worked as a manager, merchandise buyer, in customer service, sales and as a massage therapist; which has given me a great deal of experience in many areas. I am friendly, fun, patient, courteous and enjoy talking to people. Message me with any inquiries you may have about my class and I will reply as quickly as I can.

About the lesson

Lessons will be based on each individual's needs and goals and done online only. The first lesson will be more of an introduction and establishment of where you are on your English journey and what you hope to gain. I will be as flexible as possible with your schedule. We will go over a plan and get started on your next visit. If you want to practice your conversational skills, we can do just that. There will not be a shortage of topics to discuss, and don't worry if you are shy. My friendly smile will put you at ease and hopefully I can make you laugh. CLT, which stands for Communicative Language Teaching is the style I use along with Task Based Language Teaching (TBLT). These methods improve fluency over accuracy, help you interpret logic and reasoning while asking for your opinions. Listed below are some of the areas I can assist you with.
