About Surya
I have been an avid reader since I was a child. I love the classics of English literature, as well as the English language in itself, with its vast, rich vocabulary and its flexibility. My master's degree in English from New York University is both a result and an expression of these interests. Moreover, I love language in general: I have some knowledge of a number of languages, and am currently learning German. For someone like me, teaching English is entirely natural, in that my experiences and my interests make me well suited to do so. Whatever your reasons for learning English, I look forward to helping you achieve your specific goals!

Not only do I have a master's degree in English from New York University, but I have substantial experience learning other languages in a number of different environments as well. I will bring both my love and knowledge of the English language and what I have learned from my varied language-learning experiences to my English lessons. As above, I can tailor lessons to the needs of a particular student. Conversation will likely be a substantial component of most lessons, but I can also focus on other areas as needed. I am aware that learning a new language can be a nerve-wracking experience, and I will do all that I can to relieve any anxieties my students might have and help them to make themselves at home in the English language. I am prepared to teach students of any age.
