About Vanessa

My journey began with an MM in Vocal Pedagogy from the Manhattan School of Music, which taught me how to phrase like a vocalist while I navigate the keys. Having spent 10 years in the classroom, I have guided 421 students through the nuances of posture, hand position, and sight reading.
It is a two-way street where I learn just as much from your unique musical perspective as you learn from me. I find that when a pianist understands vocal phrasing, the music truly comes alive. My approach emphasizes music theory and memorization techniques to make pop and contemporary pieces feel accessible.
