About Chris
Hi, my name's Chris! I'm a guitar teacher & working musician located in Frankston, well educated in the art Blues, Jazz, Rock, Pop, RnB, Classical and beginner method. I have a bachelor of music, 20 years of experience playing the guitar and 8 years of teaching students from all levels, ages and backgrounds. I even offer Bass/Ukulele/ beginner piano and songwriting tuition.

I strive to instill passion in my students from the get-go by focusing on what they want to learn and teaching method and technique through songs and styles they feel connected to. I have a very established beginner method that assists students from grade 2 (8 years old) to those later in life looking to upskill or jump into a new hobby. This method is progressive and builds up rather than having many confusing parts that are difficult to remember. I always make sure lessons are planned before sessions for maximum efficiency of teaching and utilize shared Spotify playlists to have an open channel with students and what they're passionate to learn. Reading music is a fantastic skill that I teach however it's never compulsory, just available when requested. Teaching rhythm is a major focus of my lessons as it's such an essential backbone of everything musical on the guitar (and all instruments!) I use a vast selection of books to deliver lessons, including the Rockschool program and AMEB where exams are available when requested along with my own skills using tab and notation software (Musescore) to create clear and easy to read charts and lesson plans with an aim to avoid messy hand written material. VCE tuition is also very welcome as I have previously coached students into university degrees. Come learn for either fun or those looking at the guitar more seriously! =D
