About Jim
Hi there, I'm Jim - I'm an extremely experienced educator! I have been an English teacher in the UK for over twenty years, have been a Head of Year, Head of English and have taught students from 11 to 18 years of age. Looking for clarification on the difference between a proper noun and a pronoun? I'm your man! Looking for a bit of extra practice for your GCSE English Language? I'm your man! My lessons are well-paced and tailored to the student's needs. Variety is very important, so in an hour-long lesson, students will engage in a number of different tasks, such as quizzes, discussion, reading, analysis, evaluation, extended writing, correction exercises, grammar exercises, and so on... I am on hand throughout the lesson to offer support and clarification and will adapt the lesson if a particular task is not working. My two decades of experience teaching students from 11 to 18 mean I am able to tailor my approach to the individual.
