About Jesna
Hi! I am a 16 year old UK born female who is currently studying at the university of Plymouth. I finished my GCSEs in 2023 and I achieved a grade 9 in English Literature and a grade 8 in English Language. The GCSE texts I teach are: An Inspector Calls, Macbeth and A Christmas Carol. I also studied A level English Literature (AQA A) and achieved a grade B. Therefore, I can teach the following texts: The Help by Katherine Stockett, A Streetcar Named Desire, Feminine Gospels, Love poetry through the ages pre-1900 and The Great Gatsby.

My lessons are for those who are serious about their GCSEs or A Levels. I teach through looking at mark schemes and assessing children's work. I then comment on strengths and weaknesses. English Literature is a subject which requires structure as well as critical thinking. I strive to apply the structure I used and share tips on how to be able to analyse. I taught some of my classmates and I gave my revision materials to my friend who got a grade 9 in her mocks. And I also do have tutoring experience for nearly a year. My two students improved drastically, especially since they were new to the UK.

Details
I have had experience with tutoring two children officially, I also helped my friend with her mocks by giving her my revision materials and I went through them with her and she achieved a grade 9. During my A Levels, my classmates always approached me and I would explain certain texts and how to “read between the lines”. My essays were used as a framework that my peers could learn from.
