About Melanie
I started my professional life by earning a PhD in Physics at MIT. From there, I moved into a 13-year career as a quant at a financial technology firm. These roles required immense mathematical rigor and constant problem-solving. Working with 95 students has shown me that everyone approaches algebra or calculus differently.
I enjoy helping teens and adults prepare for entrance exams through structured conceptual learning. My history includes a shift from high-level finance to part-time teaching. I focus on arithmetic and number sense because they form the foundation for all geometry and word problems. It is a slow process.
