About Alia
I am currently completing my undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo. I have been on the Honors Dean List since my first year and have continuously had a 4.0 GPA. I believe my commitment to teaching and education is quite evident through my past experience of over 5 years in tutoring high school students various subjects, including, English, History, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and of course, Mathematics. Quadratics is one of my favorite topics in math, but trigonometry seems quite interesting as well! Besides studying, I enjoy baking, playing sports, and painting!

I like to try different approaches to teaching a concept to my students to figure out what works best for them! This is done by preparing different activities, worksheets, and modules catered to each student. A typical class would start off with a revision of what was learned in the previous class, followed by an introduction of what will be taught on that day. After the concept is taught to the student, and this includes having done several practice questions, the student will have the opportunity to ask questions and clarify any confusing concepts. Finally, at the end of the class, a copy of that day's notes, along with a list of practice questions, is given to the students for additional support. What makes my classes unique is that I am always available to my students and I ensure that every question is answered. I also make it a point to have a uniquely structured class for all of my students (even in group settings) in order to make sure that the student is getting the most value for their time!
