About Kimberly
Hi, there! I'm Kimberly! I'm new to Houston, and I love it so far! I have been a Secondary English Teacher for two years, and while earning my degree, I tutored for Angelo State University's English Department, despite being a History major (with an English minor). For three years, I tutored undergraduate and graduate degree-seekers, most of whom were older than me! I am a lover of everything Literature and Writing.
As a kid, I never, ever thought I would be a teacher and tutor when I grew up. It wasn't until I tutored for ASU that I realized how awesome it is to be able to help people turn on their learning light bulbs. I hope to do the same for you, or your child!
From a more personal standpoint, I am a cat mama, a foodie, a Dr. Pepper drinker, a grammar nerd, and a free spirit with a humorous side! I love to recommend new books and then talk all about them. I love to have fun, and I love to make learning fun!

I think something that makes my lessons a particularly good tutoring choice for learners is that I make a point to make the way I approach new topics pertain to the information my student's already know about. I often use Spongebob and Patrick in my examples, or teach some poetry and literary topics using Tupac, Twenty One Pilots, or Taylor Swift lyrics. We may be learning about Classic Literature or Grammar or Writing, but I always find a way to make connections to what my students know so that they can learn the information as easily and effectively as possible. I want to help as many struggling writers and readers as I can!
