About

I have tutored some of my classmates and relatives in these various subjects throughout the school year. I would say I have assisted about 8 students total, all individually. Using this platform, I hope to increase that number and hopefully build a resume for future use.

One example of a major success story is the tutoring of my little brother. He struggled with subjects like biology, and English communication. Through my guidance and assistance, he managed to earn an A average for the year. He also takes my help on piano theory and style. After receiving poor rankings in his music theory subject at the Pittsburgh recitals, I helped him out, and the next year he earned a Superior rating.

Additionally, as President of the Technology Student Association, I aided other members of the club for regional, state, and national competitions, due to my familiarity with the competition and its events. Whether it was revising someone's descriptions, reviewing paper work, building a model, giving pointers on a speech and presentation, or editing a video I successfully guided members to qualify for the state competitions while successfully competing in my own 6 events.

Hopefully my qualifications will be enough to lead you to see that I am the right tutor for you!

Currently enrolled in Richland High School, I reside at the top of my class at #1 out of approximately 120 students and hold the position of class president. Through the school, I am involved in various activities including Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Musical Theatre, an AP Music Theory course, and I play piano and guitar. Besides the musical aspect, I also am involved in academic clubs including the Technology Student Association, Student Council, and Math Club. With these skills, I hope to assist primary and middle school students in improving their music, math, and communication skills.

In the subject of music, I am advanced in music theory and perform recitals every month through my piano teacher. In the month of March, I travel to Pittsburgh where I am judged along several other piano students. I have performed in the categories of Piano Solo, Piano Duet, and Music Theory, which I earned a "Superior" (the highest ranking) for each. While teaching music, I hope to enlighten young students on the importance of reading notes on the staff, keeping a good sense of rhythm, having a strong ear, and performing with their own unique style. I would be able to do lessons over video message, or travel around the area to provide instruction to children who are interested to learn! Depending on the student's prior knowledge, I would review the basic fundamentals of music before diving into anything brand new. I have worked with teaching children before, so I am aware of the fact that every child has their own needs and pace. While I am a vigorous and enlightened student, I do learn better with the use of visuals and with someone explaining and constantly reviewing with me.

In the area of mathematics, I would be willing to teach younger students in basic arithmetic and algebra to assist them in school. Throughout my entire school career, I had always maintained an A or A+ average in not only my math classes, but all my classes. Knowing how the school system works, I believe my methods of teaching will provide an individual and personal learning environment so students can better understand the material they are learning in school. For extra practice and problems, I will use Khan Academy so that parents can see their child's progress and amount of time spent on work/homework. Walking students through Khan Academy will better improve their understanding of the material.

Lastly, I would be willing to teach in the communication field. The importance of public speaking and social interaction is so vital in our world. With the increase in technology and social media usage, face to face social skills often lack with this generation, skills which are critical for instances such as job interviews, speeches, meeting someone new, working with a team, and just overall self presence. Through the Technology Student Association, I have competed in speech and presentation events for the past 4 years and have earned 1st place regionally all 4 years, state wide for 2 years and nationally placed in the top 10 for 2 years. Through these speaking events, I have created a basic outline for students to create a riveting speech. This includes having an introduction which grasps the audience's attention and a conclusion completely tying together the entire speech. I would also stress the importance of eye contact, self confidence, poise, hand and note-card usage, and vocal tone and volume. With these qualities, students will quickly become more confident peoples and will have the ability to deliver a flawless speech in front of a class.

My characteristics as a teacher include patience, perseverance, and hard work. I believe that nothing comes easy, but if one has the work ethic to pursue and work towards what they desire, anything is possible, with some guidance. I view all race/background/sexuality as equal and in no way, shape, or form discriminate against anyone.

I look forward to working with many of you!!!

I have to pay for my own gas so driving around gets a little pricey! The hourly rate is not set in stone, it would range anywhere from 10-20 dollars so I kept it in the middle. I am saving up for college and other expenses. Your support is much appreciated! (:
