About Elle

Hi! It's such a pleasure to meet you!

I'm Elle (just like the letter L), and I'm currently a high school student. I am a tutor for English reading and writing, as well as vocab. Although going through literature and proofreading may not be fun, I promise nothing is ever boring with me!

Fun fact: One of my favorite hobbies is enjoying a good book, what about you?

Teaching method and techniques:
Student will be required to bring in a piece of their work from English/Literature class, or material they are struggling with. Afterward, it will be my job to clarify whatever sort of issues or misunderstanding they have over the assignment, as well as include some helpful feedback on what to improve. I will focus on core interpretive tools that are incredibly useful when it comes to reading and writing such as imagery, a strong vocab buildup, and step by step analytical frameworks.
A typical lesson plan would look something very much like this: Difficult topic is brought in, and the student looks over the issue with me. Whether it is on essay framework, improving details, or learning new vocab, I will always let them try it out first, then step in if they need help. Afterward, it will be a common practice to give them some"buildup problems", allowing them to familiarize themselves with the concept. Homework will be assigned as seen fit. If a student needs more help, I will give them material to go over. If not, I will often assign light work on more advanced topics that would help the student improve. As I am still in high school, my current teach range is lower middle school to elementary school students, so around grades 1-8.
