About Liz

I have been teaching for 18 years, all in the high school science classroom. I am comfortable with all levels of students and with lab work as well. I am a firm believer in breaking a problem down in order to find a solution and that practice, especially in chemistry, is the only way to master the topic. I love what I do and I love working with students of all types to help them make sense of the harder concepts they may encounter in school. I go above and beyond for every student I have ever taught. I show up early, stay late and find ways for students to understand no matter what it takes.

About the lesson

My teaching method is to approach any problem as something that can be solved given enough information. I sit down with students regularly and work problems with them to completion. It is easiest if you come to my tutor sessions with assignments you need help with and/or questions about notes or concepts. We will work through multiple ways of approaching a question(s) from simply reading and annotating, discussing possible ideas and drawing particle diagrams as necessary. I have helped students from every level of understanding and will work to make sure you feel confident in your abilities as you move to work on your own with work that I can check for you.
