About Maggie
Hi! My name is Maggie and I'm a high school senior with experience tutoring students, like yourself, at Kumon. I enjoy helping students on concepts they're struggling with and become more confident in their abilities. I'm patient, easy-going, and willing to adjust my teaching style to fit each student's needs. I understand that asking for help sometimes can sometimes feel intimidating, so I strive to create a comfortable environment where students can ask questions and learn at their own pace.

Hello! My name is Maggie and I'm a high school senior and a Kumon Math and Reading Center tutor. My teaching method is a mix of the values and skills I've learned from my own experience and from working at Kumon. A typical lesson plan will include first getting to know the student's current understanding of the material and identifying areas they may be struggling. From there, I will teach the concept in a simple and easy-to-understand way, work through examples together, and then give the student opportunities to practice independently. I encourage students to ask questions and make mistakes because I believe that understanding why something works is more important than simply memorizing a process.
I tutor students starting in kindergarten up to 5th grade in English, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and vocabulary.
