About Julien
I am an experienced saxophone tutor with more than 10 years of teaching college students. My aim is to make saxophone learning simple, practical, and enjoyable while helping students grow into confident musicians. I believe students learn best when lessons are clear, interactive, and connected to real music.
My teaching focuses on developing strong fundamentals such as tone control, breathing techniques, finger coordination, rhythm, and timing. I carefully balance technical exercises with creative practice so students remain engaged and motivated. Improvisation and expressive playing are introduced to help students build confidence and individuality.
I use real-world music examples from different styles to explain concepts clearly. I also use modern tools like recording analysis, guided practice plans, and play-along sessions to track progress effectively. Music theory, ear training, and reading skills are included to support complete musical development.
My lessons are friendly, patient, and goal-oriented. Whether a student wants to perform on stage or simply enjoy playing music, I provide steady guidance and encouragement.

My teaching methodology for Saxophone focuses on long-term musical development through clarity, creativity, and responsibility. I believe steady improvement comes from strong fundamentals and consistent practice. I start by teaching correct breathing techniques, embouchure control, posture, finger technique, tone balance, and rhythm accuracy.
Creativity is included by encouraging students to explore sound, learn popular melodies, and practise improvisation in a simple and guided way. As a mentor, I provide motivation, patience, and constructive feedback to help students stay confident and committed to their learning journey.
Critical thinking is developed by teaching students to understand musical patterns, rhythm structure, and scale relationships. Accountability is maintained through clear practice goals, regular feedback, and progress evaluation. Along with Saxophone lessons, I also teach Music Theory, Ear Training, Rhythm Practice, and Performance Basics to help students become confident and independent musicians.
