About Finley
I'm a current postgraduate student from Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.
I am passionate about history, and I have a special interest in Soviet and Post-Soviet studies. Broader academic interests include 20th century Europe and East Asian history, and I wrote my dissertation on the Crises of the late Qing Dynasty, specifically western missionary responses to the Hundred Days Reform and the Boxer Uprising.
When I don’t have my head in academic journals, I enjoy walks with our three dogs, Bean, Bunty and Bowie. I also play chess enthusiastically (but badly).

Three years as a University of Leeds undergraduate in History, due to study MA in Modern History at University of Leeds with a special interest in Soviet and Post-Soviet studies.
Previous Experience as a tutor at GCSE with measured improvement in students' results.
