About Hamzah
I am a History and Politics graduate of the University of Cambridge, where I also served as Chair of the Girton College Historical Society. Before Cambridge, I attended Bradford Grammar School on an academic scholarship, giving me first-hand experience of competitive examinations and university admissions.
I specialise in GCSE and A-level History, A-level Politics, and Oxbridge applications for humanities and social-science subjects. My academic background allows me to help students move beyond memorising information and learn how to construct clear, persuasive and well-supported arguments.
I understand that confidence is often as important as knowledge. My lessons are therefore rigorous but encouraging: students are challenged without being made afraid of getting things wrong. Every lesson has a clear purpose, and students receive specific, practical feedback on how to improve.

My lessons are highly personalised, intellectually demanding and focused on measurable progress. I begin by identifying each student’s strengths, weaknesses, examination board and target grade, then create a tailored programme around their needs.
For GCSE and A-level History and Politics, lessons combine subject knowledge with the skills examiners reward: interpreting questions, constructing arguments, selecting evidence, evaluating competing explanations and writing effectively under timed conditions. Students regularly plan and complete examination questions, receiving precise feedback and clear targets for improvement.
For Oxbridge applicants in History, Politics and related humanities subjects, I provide structured support with wider reading, intellectual development, course selection, UCAS responses, submitted work, relevant admissions tests and interview preparation. I help students develop their own academic interests and express their ideas convincingly; I do not ghostwrite application materials.
