I have a passion for education and I believe all students should be given the opportunity to succeed, no matter their circumstances. I strongly believe that social constructivist methodology (learning through collaboration) rather than simply just lecturing students helps to build confidence and understanding in the material. I also ascribe to developing a positive teaching atmosphere, focused upon constructive feedback rather than solely grade-based incentives and try to apply the work of Carol Dweck in developing growth mindsets in learners to raise attainment. I also try to plan my teaching to fit the needs of each individual's circumstances, by preparing a multitude of resources and activities to incorporate their preferred learning style.

Details
Cancellation policy: In order to ensure that teaching time will not be taken away from other tutees, please if possible try to provide at least 24 hours notice when cancelling / rescheduling a lesson. Prior to booking, a deposit of £4.50 per hour of session will be needed to secure time slot. If notice of cancellation or postponement has been given within the 24 hour time frame then this money will be refunded to the payee's account. If less than 24 hours notice has been given then the £4.50 deposit will not be refunded and will serve as a cancellation fee, as this removes a slot time that other tutees may benefit from.
