About Rex
I am a history/ESL instructor with 4 years of instruction experience. I started teaching since in college, tutoring international and domestic students with college coursework, and worked as the teaching assistant with the course instructor. After finishing higher education, I have worked as an elementary/secondary level history tutor. I have also worked as an English instructor for young ESL students.

I focus primarily on building critical thinking. History and English, like any other discipline, requires students to think critically to succeed. As such, rather than the memorization of historical facts, I prefer deeper analysis into historical areas of the students' interest. In the process, I encourage the student to engage with the many facets of society--gender, race, nationality, socio-economic status, etc. I believe that, by inspiring the student to contemplate on social issues that reverberate to this day, the student will be prepared to succeed in higher education and beyond.
