IB History HL/SL Tutor - Second Year History BA Student at the University of Oxford.

Sam was my history tutor during my final year at St Leonard’s School. He was really helpful because of his own recent experience with IB history, so he could give lots of insights into what worked for him. I particularly liked how, before the lesson, he came up with essay plans based on history questions I asked, so we could discuss our perspectives and understand the topic better. He was also really helpful in breaking down the question, the criteria, and the structure of an essay. I’m quite a slow writer so it was really good to learn a way to write an essay with a preformed structure, it was just filling in the gaps after that with evidence. What’s more, he made lessons fun and engaging with a unique and creative twist to learning techniques. If I mention Bingo and Bongo or the A-Team to anyone else of his students they’ll know what I mean! I highly recommend Sam specifically because of his recent experience with the subject and his willingness to help answer any questions about anything relating to history.
