About Hailey
In the past I worked as an instructional aide with students ranging from 2nd grade, to 8th grade. During my instructional aide job, I was finishing up school to become a teacher! I now am a credentialed teacher and I want to share my skills with struggling students and give them the opportunity that I did not have at their age- the ability to do math and not want to have a mental breakdown and feel like I am a failure. My brain just processed math in a different way than it was being taught to me in a fast-paced environment! What no one told me is that there are different ways to process math and when I figured that out, I felt like a math whiz! I want to share that with my students and let them know that they have the same ability, it just hasn't been unlocked yet!

Growing up, math was always a struggle for me. My grade in math always reflected that struggle. In fact, it brought my confidence down even though I had amazing grades in every other subject. I could just never get the math thing down. After years and years of studying math and aiding students with the same math I struggled with at their age, I realized it was never me- it was the way I was being taught. One size fits all did not fit "me". After years of taking on math and working with students one-on-one, I have learned a variety of ways that help students understand math and what they are doing. No more guessing or hanging on the cliff's edge trying to play catch-up in a fast-paced classroom environment. A challenge is one thing, but a struggle is another. Together, we get ahead of the struggle before it even takes place!
