About Lorna
I am a student in my third year of my masters in maths. I volunteered in maths and chemistry classes for a year teaching many students to help my own teachers with struggling pupils. I’ve worked with numerous levels of maths from first year to those in their first years of university.

I aim to cut out jargon and difficult problems initially, and to help students find their own unique way of rembering, solving and understanding problems before they approach them. Maths is hard but it can be simple with practice. I believe that maths is a code and everyone has their own way of cracking it. The key is to find out how you, personally, like to think about things.
I’d like to see exactly where a student is struggling and help them in that area. Then, I’d like to lead them through examples and the theory to explain them. Finally, I’d give them their own problems to practice. Practice is the best way to study maths and you can never do enough.
