About Akshay

I am an English tutor with over a year of tutoring experience, along with additional experience helping students and adults improve their English and prepare for IELTS.

I have worked with learners on grammar, speaking, fluency and everyday communication, and I have also helped IELTS candidates practise the Speaking module, improve their answers and become more confident expressing themselves in English.

I have personally taken IELTS and achieved Band 9 in Listening, Reading and Speaking, and Band 7.5 in Writing. This gives me first-hand experience with the exam and the preparation required to achieve a strong score.

I also have more than six years of professional experience in engineering and corporate environments, along with customer-facing experience where I communicated with people daily, assisted customers, answered questions and helped them with purchases. This background helps me understand the kind of practical English people need for work, interviews and everyday professional communication.

I speak English, Hindi and Gujarati and enjoy working with learners from different backgrounds. My goal is to help students become more confident, natural and comfortable using English in real situations.

About the lesson

My lessons are practical, structured, and adapted to each learner’s goals. I begin by understanding your current level, strengths, and areas for improvement, then build lessons around what you actually need — whether that is speaking more confidently, improving grammar, expanding vocabulary, preparing for IELTS, or using English more effectively at work.

Lessons can include grammar and vocabulary practice, guided conversation, pronunciation and fluency exercises, real-life speaking situations, and regular feedback on mistakes and areas for improvement.

For IELTS students, I provide focused preparation with particular attention to Speaking, including practice questions, answer development, fluency, vocabulary, and feedback based on the skills tested in the exam. I can also help with Listening, Reading, and Writing strategies.

My lessons are suitable for high school and college students, university learners, adults, and working professionals. The aim is not only to understand English, but to become more confident and comfortable using it in real situations.
