About Sam
I am a gigging musician and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, drums, vocals, saxophone) that wants to pass on my passion for music to budding musicians of all ages. I currently play bass and sing backing vocals in the neo-psychedelic rock band "The Miracle Seeds" as well as my own folk/jazz/psychedelic project "Atoll Blues", produced and mixed myself. Check out my work at (concealed information) or if you want to look these projects up, we're on all major streaming platforms! I have plenty of experience with kids and can supply a disclosure.

Over my years of writing, recording and performing I have learnt the most important lesson in songwriting which is how to craft songs that capture emotions. If you can successfully do this then your songs will connect to your audience and create a deep tie between them and your music. I want to help you take the ideas that you have and show you how to mould them into fully fleshed out songs that you and your audience will love because they sound great and have an impact on more than one level. These lessons can be 1 or 2 hour sessions where we can work on all the aspects of songwriting from lyrics to melody to chord progressions and arrangement. We can even record demos as we go so you can track your progress and we can even develop these into full productions if that is something you'd like.

Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
Sam has taught me so much in such a short time-frame. He is very knowledgeable and can explain concepts in a simple but effective way. His teaching style is very hands on which suits me well as the theory side of music can be quite tedious at times. Open-minded and approachable, I really couldn't recommend him enough!
Sam has such a calming, patient energy. He's a very good listener as well as being knowledgeable about his craft/ overall passion for music. I think he would make an ideal tutor and inspire a wide vary of people given the opportunity.
Sam has been a brilliant mentor and guide for my guitar playing, sing writing and creativity. This has been whilst playing at events with him, working on new music and recording. He is kind, considerate and thoughtful. I often find teachers overbearing or didactic, whereas learning with Sam feels more collaborative and playing/writing becomes more intuitive. I trust him and would highly recommend him.
A really patient teacher that utilises creative techniques to help the student learn in a way that works best for them. Ideal for someone of almost any level, utilising his critical, yet gentle and constructive approach.
Sam provides the perfect blend of helping you realise your own artistic vision and ideas, while offering a seemingly endless supply of insights and knowledge that you can add to your songwriting arsenal: all of which will improve both your existing and future ideas tenfold.
Sam also combines both an open form of teaching that accommodates what suits you best, alongside a much needed structure, that really allows you to learn consistency in your art.View more recommendations
