About Mariya
Hi! I am Mariya, an incoming first-year Law Student at the London School of Economics, and am tutoring A-Level Economics, GCSE & A-Level History and helping students write their perfect UCAS personal statement. I have over four years of tutoring experience by working at my local tuition centre, in which I worked closely with students and their parents to both address weak areas in their learning and to boost their confidence to achieve top results. This experience has equipped me with the skills needed to understand a student's individual needs and to formulate revision strategies that will provide them with a well-rounded understanding of their studies. This has also allowed me to understand the attributes that top universities are looking for when reading personal statements, enabling me to help curate unique and convincing statements that receive offers from prestigious academic institutions.

Achieving A*A*A* at A-Level (in Economics, English Literature and History) and having over four years' experience with one-to-one tutoring has equipped me to understand students' academic struggles and overcome them by helping create strategic and effective revision methods and exam strategies. In my lessons, I will utilise past papers, essay plans and detailed breakdowns of historical events to ensure that students not only have an understanding of their historical studies, but can also apply this knowledge to their exams in a succinct way that will ensure top marks. This involves finding the best revision method for a student, such as flashcards or mind maps, and assigning students to complete these tasks, to ensure that they have a detailed and in-depth knowledge of the era. Planning, writing and analysing top-level essays will also ensure that the student understands what criteria have to be met when achieving top marks in an exam, and ensuring that they can replicate these same skills in their own tests. My lessons will also help students to deepen their analysis of historical events by evaluating their impacts and wider implications, creating a strong foundation upon which top-level essays can be written.
