About Rahila
Hey tutee! My name is Rahila and I am a fellow student who will be studying Med-P (Medicine preparatory year) at McGill in the fall. I understand the discomfort of struggling with new material and feeling stuck. That's why I want to help!

I try to cater my lessons to my students' needs as much as possible. I start by asking them what topics they would like to cover and then continue by asking them questions based on the topic to assess their knowledge. When given time for prior preparation, I like to prepare examples that we can do together, along with questions they can work on, with my help, to develop comprehension. I am also a Kahoot champion, I love to incorporate those as much as possible.
If I were to teach biology to my students, I would start by finding interactive videos and models online to help them visualize the mechanisms that they are learning. Then I would proceed as I usually do, testing and explaining the concepts that are shown to be more difficult to grasp.
What makes me special? I am an incoming medical student at McGill who loves to share my knowledge on the admissions process with any tutee who may also be interested in the health field. I also love to use more practical, daily life scenarios to explain biological processes. For example, helper T-cells are the cheerleaders of the squad! I typically tutor elementary, high school, and college level courses (cegep).
