Hi, I’m Jamal. I am an incoming student at UPenn’s Wharton School, and I love breaking down complex ideas into clear, logical steps. Whether I am managing my neighborhood landscaping business, building custom PC setups, or competing in technical track events like the 110-meter hurdles and pole vault, I always approach challenges with a highly structured mindset. As an English tutor, my approach is all about breaking down tough reading and writing assignments into simple, logical steps. Drawing on my experience tutoring through the National Honor Society, I focus on the structural mechanics of an essay rather than just telling students what to write. A typical 60-minute session is super organized but low-stress: we spend 10 minutes looking over past drafts to fix any confusing parts, 15 minutes breaking down a new prompt, 25 minutes actively writing or mapping out evidence together, and the final 10 minutes making sure the student can explain the main ideas back to me.
