About Marie
I have a BA in Political Science and an MA in Public Affairs, and I completed one course at the University of Saskatchewan toward a CERTESL certificate. I have tutored English as a second language privately to individuals of all ages. I have lived in the United States, Brazil, Zambia, Cape Verde, and Canada, and I have traveled to many other countries.

I am available to work one-on-one with individuals of all ages.
Before commencing studies with anyone, I do a free meet and greet to assess where their English currently is and what their goals are for tutoring sessions.
If am working with a young student, I can utilize their school lessons and provide extra oral and written practice if the goal is to supplement or help with school lessons. I can supplement with other materials if needed.
If I am working with a stay-at-home mother, I like to add in some everyday life into our lessons, e.g. baking or cooking which would require reading and following through on a recipe.
I have lived in a number of countries and understand the joy and difficulty of learning a second language and moving to a new culture with a different language than my native one.
