About Kgothatso
I am Kgothatso Maapola. I am a student at Rosebank College. I am a 3rd year student with experience in teaching learners in the intermediate phase. I am passionate about teaching because I have seen that the way that education is delivered, is what makes learners fail. But also the cooperation of the learners is very important. I want learners to actually gain skills and be able to use them in the real world. Because let's be honest if I teach you maths only in the context of the classroom, how will you be able to use that skill in the real world if you do not have the knowledge of doing so. So that is where I come in.

In my experience of teaching, learners learn best through a constructive method of teaching. Meaning that learners understand the work that is presented to them, if the work is attached to their prior knowledge. Therefore, my lessons will focus on helping attach the work that I present to them to their prior knowledge so that they can understand the work that I give them. And my lessons will also focus real world problems so that the lesson gives the learners skills for solving real world problems.
