Introduction To Singer/Songwriting, Solo Performance & Production

Course setup

This class can be taken via Online Video (Zoom) or at my Home Studio in Geraldton, Western Australia (no more than four students). I'll cover stuff like brainstorming for creative ideas or alternatively, seeking truth from worldly clamor by looking within yourself in order to identify and authentically articulate your personal truth or world view(s).

I'll cover basics such as how to hone your words and music and give them song structure, writing song drafts, editing and how to write your finished song into a scrolling digital app. so you can perform it live or in front of a Green screen for a Video Song Demo or DIY music video.

I will show you the Work Flow from how to conceive & write an Original Song to the logistics of recording song demos, your solo performance of the song and how to go about getting your song independently produced and released to market.

The below "Get West" music video is an example of one of my (simpler) Original Songs I've put through this process. First, I wrote and formally copyrighted the song. Next, I recorded some song demos (sound only). I then filmed an acoustic Video Song Demo. I then sourced and communicated with an independent producer who, based on my composition sheets and demos, produced a music bed for the song. I then recorded my vocals (to the music bed) in my home studio.

I then performed the song at a few Live Performances replete with the produced music bed as backing (i.e. in lieu of a support band). I then released the "produced demo" of the song on my 2011/13 "Australia Wide EP". I followed this release up with the below DIY "Get West" music video.

I can explain the logistics and go into the minutia of this entire process so you can do the same sort of thing with your own song. This is a class Bonus but as I say, the focus in this class is to help you write a song you feel is worth going to the effort of performing and producing.

If two days isn't enough to cover everything you want to know you can request further days at a cost of $100 per day.
