About Yurika
Hi! I'm a Japanese woman who has been living and working in the UK for several years.
I moved from Japan to the UK and have experienced many of the challenges that come with adapting to a new country and a different culture. I understand how confusing everyday things can feel when you are new to the UK, especially when you are trying to figure everything out in a different language.
I enjoy helping people feel more comfortable and confident about living abroad. I am friendly, patient and easy to talk to, and I want my sessions to feel more like having a relaxed conversation with someone who understands your perspective.
As I currently live in London, I can also share my personal experience of everyday life here and answer practical questions about living in the UK.
I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping make your UK experience a little easier!

My sessions are relaxed, practical and tailored to your individual needs.
If you are planning to move to the UK, have recently arrived, or are already living here and have questions about everyday life, you can bring your questions and we can talk through them together.
I can share my personal experience of living and working in the UK and help you understand things that may feel confusing when you first arrive.
Topics can include everyday life, settling into the UK, London life, public transport, NHS and GP registration, Council Tax, banking, shopping, cultural differences and general practical questions.
Each session is informal and conversational. There is no fixed lesson plan — we focus on what you would like to know and what would be most useful for you.
Please note that I provide guidance based on my personal experience and general information. I do not provide professional legal, immigration or financial advice.

I worked with Yurika and found her to be professional, responsible and approachable. She communicates clearly and is very good at making people feel comfortable when asking questions or discussing something they are unsure about.
Her experience of living in the UK, combined with her Japanese background, gives her a useful perspective for people who are adjusting to life in a different country. I would happily recommend her.I met her when she was a 19-year-old student in the UK. Since then, she has always known what she wanted and has been ambitious about achieving her goals.
She returned to Japan and worked there for six years after graduating from university, and finally came back to the UK, as she had always wished to do.
She was also very quick to find the kind of job she wanted after returning to the UK. It took her only seven days to receive a job offer from the company she wanted to work for after arriving in the UK. She has adapted very well to life here and has a good understanding of the differences between Japanese and British culture.
She is able to explain things in a simple and practical way, and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for friendly advice about everyday life in the UK.I have known her since we were high school students. She is a very friendly, approachable and reliable person. She is easy to talk to, always very honest, and explains things clearly.
She spent one year studying at a language school in the UK when she was 19, and has since lived in the UK for four years — two years on a Working Holiday visa and two years on a Spouse visa. Because of this, she has a lot of practical experience of everyday life in the UK.
I think she would be a great person to talk to if you are Japanese and want to understand what living in the UK is really like.View more recommendations
